There are many great ways that you as parents and carers can support your children at home. Here are just a few of the useful websites which our teachers use and recommend:

Phonics Play is fantastic for teaching children phonics. It also explains, very clearly, the different phases in which phonics is taught and why. The children love playing the games on this website:
Oxford Phonics offers great information explaining what the Year 1 Phonics Screening Check is all about. This site will also allow you to create your own practise tests.

Online Resources
Accelerated Reader is an online reading resource for KS2 children. The children also have an opportunity to complete a comprehension quiz about what they have read, which gives an accurate reading level and sets books for them at that level. Each child has their own individual login. If you are unsure what your child's login is, check their Reading Record or speak to their class teacher.

Find out how to come up with story ideas, plan a story, write exciting characters and how they can edit their story to give it that final polish. You and your child can even watch some of your favourite authors reveal their best top tips for creative writing.

In school we use White Rose Maths to support our mathematics teaching. White Rose Maths has teamed up with TV presenter, teacher and parent Michael Underwood to bring you a video mini-series called Maths with Michael. In these videos, Michael addresses the questions many parents ask us: Has maths changed? He also offers various ways you can help your child at home using the methods we use at school. In this series, Michael offers support in the topics: place value, subtraction, multiplication, divison, fractions and algebra.
White Rose Maths - Maths With Michael
Numberblocks is an excellent resource for children in EYFS to help with basic counting skills. Along with a series of fun animated videos, there are games and activites to help your child further.
NumBots is all about every child achieving the “triple win” of understanding, recall and fluency in mental addition and subtraction, so that they move from counting to calculating. Times Tables Rock Stars is a carefully sequenced programme of daily times tables practice. Each week concentrates on a different times table, with a recommended consolidation week for rehearsing the tables that have recently been practised every third week or so. LGFL Busy Things is great website which has an array of subjects and activities for the children to enjoy and advance their learning.
